| NaijaBaseTechnology: TECNO Spark7 Series |
About a year since TECNO Mobile released the TECNO Spark5 and Spark5 Air, TECNO is at again in the second quarter of 2021 with the launch of the Spark7 series.
The main highlights of the device is: a massive 6000mAh battery, 6.5” 720p display (which isn't an upgrade at all) and the Helio A25 Chipset – I would say this is a downgrade from the Spark6 device which came with the Helio G70 gaming processor.
Bodily, the dimensions are: 165 * 76.1 * 9.5 mm. This makes the device sit right into the users hands, comfortably. A dual SIM tray is accessible using the SIM ejector tool.
Coming to the display – the TECNO Spark7 comes with an IPS LCD display type, fit into a large 6.5” 81.3% screen to body ratio and packs a resolution of 720*1600 pixels – making a total of about 269 PPI and 20:9 aspect ratio.
The all new Spark7 runs on Android 11 out of the box and comes with TECNO's custom HiOS skin version 7.5.
The MediaTek Helio A25 is the Chipset used here. It's a 12nm process, fully optimized chip. The Helio A25 implements the big.LITTLE technology, which makes work load on the CPU more spread out. We've got an Octa-core 4×1.8GHz Cortex-53 paired with a 4×1.5GHz Cortex-53. This makes scrolling through social media, gaming and texting more smooth. On GPU, we've got a PowerVR GE8320.
Memory?
Don't worry, the TECNO Spark7 got you covered. First off, I have to acknowledge the fact that in 2021, TECNO still gives the option for an expandable storage. So, with a microSD card (XC) you could expand your storage up to 128GB for more storage of photos, videos, texts and what have you.
The TECNO Spark7 comes with two storage configurations: 2GB + 32GB base model, and a more advanced 3GB + 64GB variant, for heavy users – by heavy, I mean users who love to capture every moment, download large files, play heavy games and basically never want to delete anything from their phone.
Camera!!!
The Spark7 comes with a Dual camera setup. The main lens is a 16MP auto focus camera, capable of giving you nice shots that are social media friendly. For now, it has an "Unknown" secondary lens, I think it's for Bokeh shots?
On the front, the Spark7 features an 8MP Selfie camera, with Dual-LED flash and can shoot videos up to 1080p@30fps.
As stated earlier, the Spark7 features a massive 6000mAh battery; capable of taking a light user up to 3½days on a single charge, and a heavy user up to a day and a half on battery consuming tasks.
To juice up the battery, TECNO still used a microUSB 2.0. This isn't encouraging though, because it'd take the device more than 4hours to charge from 0-100%
For the sensors, a rear mounted fingerprint is seen, an accelerometer and proximity.
Colours?
The TECNO Spark7 comes in: Morpheus Blue, Magnet Black, Spruce Green. Model name is “KF6j”.
Pricing and Availability – The TECNO Spark7 would retail at about €90 and $107 (base price). This translates to about N40,800.
Price of the device may vary from one place to another. As an affiliate with Jumia, NaijaBaseTechnology would do well to provide a secured link to order the device from Jumia (Jumia Nigeria, Jumia Ghana).
